I’m married with six children and ten grandchildren. I first came to Spain in 1961. I presented at the All-Iberia Conference of American Clubs and Associations in March 1998: “American women living in a new culture in Spain or Portugal.” In March 2002, I organized a symposium for European Alumnae of Mount Holyoke College titled “Language and Communication in the Third Millennium.”

I was raised in Westbury, Long Island, N.Y., but moved to Spain with my family in 1961. I taught at the University of Minnesota from 1959 to 1961 and the University of Maryland (overseas extension) in Seville, from 1963 to 1968.
